Sober Community

Vision

One Story

Recovery lives in the stories we share. Every round is a chance to be honest, be heard, and be known.

One Swing

Every swing is a fresh start. Golf teaches us patience, humility, and the grace of trying again—just like recovery.

One Gathering

Community isn’t built in a day. It’s built one tee time, one conversation, one gathering at a time.

Golf is one of the most social sports in the world, and one of the most alcohol-saturated. For people in recovery, that combination can make the course feel off-limits. Walk the Nine reclaims the game as a place of connection, not avoidance. The need is real:

•  Long-term recovery depends on community and meaningful social connections.

•  No dedicated sober golf community exists in the Twin Cities, or most metro areas, western Wisconsin, and Door County, Wisconsin.

•  Younger generations are drinking less, creating a growing audience for alcohol-free social spaces.

•  Nine holes is accessible. Low cost, low time commitment, high relational return.

•  Recovery can be serious and seriously fun at the same time.

This Matters

Our Mission

Walk the Nine exists to build sober community through the game of golf by creating welcoming, alcohol-free spaces where people in recovery can connect, play, and grow together.

You’re not alone.
