Sober living

Gatherings

Let's get one thing out of the way. Walk the Nine is not a replacement for your recovery program. It's not therapy. It's not a meeting. It's not the only thing keeping you sober. Hopefully, you already have those things, and they matter. If you don’t, let’s go to a meeting together.

This is the other part. The part where you get to enjoy your life.

Our gatherings are simple. We walk nine holes together. We talk. We laugh. We hit some great shots and some terrible ones. There's no pressure to be anyone but yourself, so come as you are.

And here's something that matters to us deeply. Your anonymity is part of our communal foundation. If you come, you'll be the only one who shares your score, your story, and the fact that you were there. We'll just be glad you showed up.

Right now, we don't have a set schedule. No season pass. No weekly league. We're starting with a few gatherings here in the Twin Cities, Minnesota and Door County, Wisconsin. Think of it as an organic, pop up way of building community. We're all figuring this out together, and that's kind of the point.

Oh, and when we're walking the nine together, this probably goes without saying, but as my sage, wise friend Helen likes to remind me, "Drinking is just not an option."

So if this sounds like something you want to try, take a swing and send me an email at erik@walkthenine.com. I'll make sure to respond.

Our Mission

Walk the Nine exists to build sober community through the game of golf by creating welcoming, alcohol-free spaces where people in recovery can connect, play, and grow together.

You’re not alone.
